A symbol to die for
An apartment complex tells renters you can’t fly the US Flag openly because you live in a diverse community and it may offend someone. An 11 year veteran fireman is told that the small American flag on his locker has to come down-it is considered decoration. Decoration???? You mean like the kind of decoration you put on a soldier’s casket to spruce it up? Come on idiots give me a break. What is next? We have to remove all of the flag bumper stickers from every car?
The Fireman’s story appeared in the NY Times. A WWII 89 year old renter in 2004 was told to take his flag down from his balcony. The story this week about another apartment situation appears here. Read each of these stories and tell me why it is Americans have to do bow down to these idiots and compromise all the things that we hold dear in the country.
The reasoning and basis for taking down our hallowed symbol is outrageous and can not hold up under scrutiny.
I can’t believe that we Americans have to defend our right to fly our flag in our country in 2009. The world is watching and scratching their heads wondering what is going on with this once great country that we all aspired to live in.?
The US Flag means alot of things to alot of people in our country and most of all it means a freedom that was fought and died for these past 230+ years. Most people in this country respect human life and we hold it as dear and precious to all. We are also willing to allow our soldiers to pursue freedom for all mankind even if that means forfeiting their lives.
Freedom is a right that all mankind should have around the world. We happen to value it more than others.
