Uncle Sam is in the kitchen cooking the books
This is the headline from the Sacramento Bee Newspaper. You take this story and multiply it hundreds of times over across the US and you will realize that books are being cooked by left leaning bureaucrats to show Obama’s stimulus numbers are askew. As stated in the article, as many as a quarter of the jobs were not in jeopardy of going away to start off with.
An excerpt from the story written by Phillip Reese
In a required state report to the federal government, the university system said the $268.5 million it received in stimulus funding through October allowed it to retain 26,156 employees.
That total represents more than half of CSU’s statewide work force. However, university officials confirmed Thursday that half their workers were not going to be laid off without the stimulus dollars.
“This is not really a real number of people,” CSU spokeswoman Clara Potes-Fellow said. “It’s like a budget number.”
We have to take these numbers that are being bandied about with a grain of salt. My father would say to me “figures don’t lie, liars figure.” I believe that is exactly what we have in Washington and all the left wing minions that report these numbers in order to show the decision is a success.
“The jobs saved by stimulus money” is as bogus a claim, as Washington has a tendency to do, when they can’t defend the stupidity of their decisions and their numbers don’t add up.
