The line forms here
The health and auto industries, with Washington in the driver’s seat will eventually be run exactly the same way, into the ground.
When Washington decided that the goverment should step in and take over GM and Chrysler, the first thing on the agenda were wholesale changes regarding how to conduct business on a day to day basis. Those changes are being made daily.
The Obama administration sent letters out to dealerships stating there store and service was no longer needed in the grand scheme of things. Thousands of people lost their jobs due to this decision by the administration.
Then the government had the “cash for clunkers” fiasco which the government thought was a huge success. Many buyers found out later that the government enticement of up to $4500.00 for their paid up old cars, which still ran, was a poor choice that the consumers will live with for the next 5-6 years. On top of that they will pay income tax on the 4500.00 credit the government offered. Must have been in the fine writing under disclaimers.
Now with dealerships closed and still closing, GM and Chrysler customers, in many cases are having to travel great lengths to have their car serviced. Just another inconvenience heaped on the shoulders of an already over burdened public.
Health Care will take on the same look after the government gets this train on the tracks to Brokeville USA. This will be the boondoggle of all boondoggles in 5 years. Doctors (car dealerships) will close up due to the adjusted(downward) rates the government will be paying “their” doctors. The public will then be left to fend for themselves as they pursue a government (dealership) doctor in another town for their health care (auto service).
Most likely the government will have to up the premiums just to pay for the bloated bureaucracy that is coming around the bend.
This government states that the elderly is happy with Medicare, so in their minds they think this is a persuasive argument to pursue covering all Americans. What the government is leaving out of this picture is the overwhelming debt that this program alone has cost. The fraud alone is upwards toward $60 Billion dollars a year.
I guess they could use the same argument about Social Security and how happy seniors and others are with this program that is nothing more than a piggy bank for lawmakers to draw upon for programs that have nothing to do with Social Security.
In reality the government has historical footprints from the 60-s till present day why they should not be in charge of a 2-car funeral much less the welfare of its people.
