I normally do not share my faith in this “political” blog but there are times that I feel I need to cast my 2cents into the debating arena of Faith.
Christianity is to a Liberal, like Kryptonite is to Superman, unbearable, and without doubt, deadly. The deadly part comes later in life when non-believers pass on into a warmer climate.
Without question, the word “Christianity” can get a uber liberal, like Keith Olberman’s panties in a wad faster than a speeding bullet, and because he has a microphone, he makes sure all 612 people (estimated) in his viewing audience know his acidic and vitriol opinion of Christians and Christianity.
Olberman had a conniption fit as reported by Newsbusters on the Brit Hume controversy over his opinion (which a Christian does not have as far as liberals are concerned) about Tiger Woods and his personal life and how the forgiveness aspect of Christianity could do more for him than any other faith.
Many people when faced with a truth that goes against their sinful nature will lash out at the messenger more than the message. As a non-believer they can’t understand the message until they allow God to soften their ossified heart, remove the film from their spiritual eye, and open up their spiritual ears to his commandments.
If Olbermann goes off the deep end because of an opinion expressed by a Christian such as Brit Hume, it should be expected. And as a Christian, I should be saddened by the real possibility of him losing his life eternally in a real place called Hell.
A non believer can’t understand what a believer has gone through in their personal life with the acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal savior. A believer should remember what they went through as a non-believer and how they reacted to a Christian or his opinion. This is a big difference
In no way shape or form am I preaching even though it sound like it, but it is important that all Christians keep in perspective that before wewere saved from our sins, we were as lost as Keith Olbermann. The only difference now between Christians and non Christians is that Christians are saved from their sins and are certain about their final destination.
Non-believers believe that Christians sit around all day and judge those who have a different belief system, which is totally false.
Christianity is the most loving of all faiths. Without failure, there will always be those believers who try to ram their faith down the throats of the unsuspecting and lost, and this causes most of the consternation and anger by non believers.
Christians need to keep a verse in 2nd Chronicles close to their heart when they venture out in judgement of others who do not know Christ. We need to remember that we have no jurisdiction as judge, trial, and jury over any other life. We are saved from our sins, this does not mean we are without sin.
The chapter in 2nd Chronicles is 7 vs 14 (KJV)
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek myface, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
This verse has nothing to do with non-believers, God is talking to us, His children, His repetitious use of the word “my.” The first 3 words of this verse reinforces this, ”If my people” key word is my, which are called by my name is proof that we need to pray, seek my face, and turn from OURwicked ways, then I(you, me,we) will hear from Heaven and Forgive ( your, mine, our,) Sinsand Heal (your, mine our)Land.
What Brit Hume did was courageous, and without thought of what others might think of him.
Keith Olbermann’s reaction was typical and expected as a non-believer, let’s not get our Christian panties in a wad. There is a certain peace I experience knowing there will be a complete and full accounting of everyone’s life in the end.
Eternal judgement will then be served on me, you, and Keith.
