Barack Obama in all of his arrogance is telling Democrats “you don’t vote for healthcare, I no campaign for you in November.” I bet there are Democrats who are thinking “thank you, thank you thank you.”
The British paper Telegraph had a story about Obama telling members of his party that he will not support or campaign for them in November. If you are a blue dog Democrat then this threat doesn’t feel all that threatening. If you are a slobbering liberal, whats the point.
Blue dogs don’t take kindly to being threatened. These Dogs may be the only Democrats who actually listen to their constituents.
This is Obama’s way of saying, “you don’t vote for my bill then I will gladly kick your butt off the plantation.” You will find the liberals who have a guaranteed gerrymandered district laying on the front porch at Obama’s feet, licking his boots.
As reported by Alex Spillius in the Telegraph, these blue dogs have their reasons for not voting for this reform bill…
Most are conservatives who are worried that their support would cost them their seat in November, as the bill has become unpopular with a majority of Americans.
Others are anti-abortion advocates concerned that the proposals would not do enough to prevent government funding of abortions.
The US Chamber of Commerce has led a coalition of organisations opposed to reform, while pharmaceutical companies and Left-wing groups have joined forces to support reform and are urging constituents to contact their representatives and let them know their feelings.
The article goes on to say that the Democrats are running 20 million dollars worth of advertising as the showdown for the vote nears.
Obama is pushing to sign this bill before he leaves for Asia on the 21st of this month. Congress is on hiatus starting the 26th.
If this bill passes there will be many members of Congress on permanent hiatus.
