Did you honestly think Scott Brown’s historic political victory in Massachusetts was a “Big F—ing Deal”? Well, to quote Barack Obama, “You ain’t seen nothing yet”.
Republican U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett of Utah has been ousted in his bid to serve a fourth term after failing to make it out of the Utah GOP convention. Bennett, 76, is the first incumbent to lose his seat in Washington this year – he won’t be the last, not by a long shot.
Bennett was a distant third in the second round of voting among nearly 3,500 delegates, netting only 27 percent of the vote.
Wiping away tears, Bennett called the political atmosphere “toxic” and said it’s, “Clear some of the votes I’ve cast have added to that toxic environment, looking back with one or two minor exceptions, I wouldn’t cast any any differently, even if I knew it would cost me my career.”
If the political atmosphere is “toxic”, Senator, it’s because people like you made it that way. People like you are bought and sold every day by special interest lobbyists. People like you, who constantly fail to recognize just who it is you represent. A reminder to you, Senator – it’s WE, the people you work for. WE elected you and WE expect you to represent OUR wishes in Congress. WE don’t much care what your personal opinion is, WE want you to vote OUR opinion. You have failed to do that, Senator, and you are just the first of many who will apparently have to learn this lesson the hard way. Come November, many more will better understand what they failed to learn in Civics. Ours is supposed to be a representative form of government. Thanks to people like you, that is no longer the case. It will be gain….and soon.
Yes, Senator Bennett, your political career is over. Thank you for your service to our country. Now, who’s next?
Whomever it might be, let the above words resonate in that space between your ears for just a moment or two longer. Read again what I’ve written. Then know and understand that we’re sick and tired of taxation without representation. We’re sick and tired of hearing your lies during campaigns, your empty “promises” and your blatant disregard for the very people who do, in fact, pay your salary.
When 93% of us tell you we want a flag amendment to the constitution, that’s exactly what we mean. We don’t care what your legal opinion is, Senator Leahy; that’s a matter for the Supreme Court to decide. Our legal opinion is just as good as yours, so shut up your pie-hole and vote the way we tell you to vote!
When over 70% of US tell you we’re opposed to amnesty legislation for illegal immigrants, that’s exactly what we mean. We don’t want you to vote “for” it, we want you to vote AGAINST it. If you don’t, we are prepared to kick your butt to the curb at the very next opportunity. That next opportunity is rapidly approaching.
When 60% of us tell you we don’t want your socialist healthcare program, that means we don’t want you to vote for it. We want you to vote against it. We don’t think you know what’s best for us. WE know what’s best for us and we are now holding you responsible for your votes. When you voted for this socialist program and then ran and hid from us, you only postponed the inevitable. As the saying goes, you can run but you can’t hide – at least not come Election Day. WE will have our say and exact a measure of accountability from your very political hide.
And hear this loud and clear; we don’t care whether you’re Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent or whatever – you are now officially fair game. You’ve had your warning. Prepare for the consequences of your actions.
